Ever since I can remember, I have been interested in baking. My mother always entertained me as a child by standing me on a chair in front of a stand mixer, where we would make delicious cakes and cookies. The time would fly and the seeds of inspiration were planted. As I got older my interests turned to the visual arts and eventually led me to art school. At Ringling School of Art and Design I studied illustration spending my days drawing and painting and appreciating the beauty around me. After getting married and starting a family, my attentions turned to baking for my children. I found a new medium in cake design. I realized that cakes don't have to be generic and boring. The cakes that I create at The Perfect Piece of Cake are unique hand-sculpted creations that completely cater to the specific desires of the client. They are custom made works of art. I use only the freshest ingredients and dedicate my time to creating a cake that is not only visually spectacular but also gastronomically decadent. It is important for me that my customers be wowed by the flavor as well as the look of the cake. Please email me at studiojs@yahoo.com or thetreattable@att.net with any inquiries.

My family loved to have parties. Growing up, almost every family event was at our house, from Christmas to Easter, most holidays inbetween. My parents loved to entertain, and our house was considered the Grand Central Station of Coral Gables. I also had an obsession with resort hotels. My father traveled around the world, and I would marvel at the wonderful places he would stay. I was determined to work in hotels; and I did. I studied Hospitality Management at Florida International University. It was during this time that I honed in my skills of not only hotel and restaurant management, but a love for smart cooking, and menu planning. After graduation and working in managment in many premier hotel properties in Florida, from The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, to The Breakers Resort and The Four Seasons in Palm Beach among others, I have settled down as a mom. The Treat Table is a venture that can combine my love of entertaining, good food and sweets, with my passion for a simple aesthetic stylistic design, while still being a stay at home mom.
