The Treat Table goes Back to School

We were thrilled to do a table for the MECE Marketplace. It was our opportunity to do the "Back to School" theme table we wanted to do.
Hopefully, you are reading this because you saw us at MECE and wanted to see more of our work, which makes our attendance worthwhile.  We shared a corridor with Lisa (lisanalvenphotography.com) and former GE six sigma (!) small business consultants, Patrick and Brian (seventhelement.com), so Lisa was able to give me a lesson in photography with my new camera (enjoy the pics) and the guys gave us some great insight into our small business.

Being that this was a Back to School theme (it IS still September) the obvious underlying flavor in the menu was APPLES! Apple spice cake whoopie pies, Apple Pecan Pie, caramel apple cheesecake.  The staples for passersby to taste were the vanilla and chocolate cake pops.  The true hit of the day were the peanut butter and jelly macarons! OMG! If only my children would understand the delicacy behind a macaron! These were truly delicious.  Jeannette's Oreo Chocolate Crunch cake shot completed the "milk and cookies" idea of school time snackery.

2011 Fiesta Mexicana and The Treat Table's Anniversary

This table is so special to us as it marks The Treat Table's one year anniversary!
Last year, the St Joan of Arc's Dads Club was started to help raise funds for the school's new gym and sports equipment.  Our very first treat table was for their Back to School Event, and we were met with such great success that we have continued on doing tables.  We were honored to do a table again. Oh! How far we've come!

The starting point for this tasty menu was the churro cake pops- which were devoured.  From there, kalhua chocolate cake pops, tres leches cake shots, Hot chocolate cake shots, SPICY chipotle brownies smothered in dulce de leche.
The Passion Fruit Whoopie Pies were a big hit as well as the Mini Cinnamon Crusted Key Lime Pies which someone told me was the BEST Key lime pie he'd ever tasted (yay!)

Jeannette has perfected the art of french macarons, which flavors vary from Passion Fruit, chocolate and dulce de leche

I had brought back some prickly pear cactus flower syrup from a recent trip to Arizona, where I drank many a prickly pear magarita... So we incorporated that flavor into a cupcake, complete with a Tequila Patron syrup and salt!

The Treat Table does 30th Birthday Circus theme

This circus themed birthday party was a lot of fun.  The client had already purchased the great printables from Gwynn Wasson designs, so that was our starting point.  In thinking about the menu we
considered heavy hors d'ourves circus fare. Sliders: 100% ground sirloin with boston bibb lettuce, red wine sauteed onions, pepperjack cheese, popcorn with different salts, corn dogs, chicken skewers with three dipping sauces: thai peanut, sesame soy, and honey dijon. fresh and healthy spanish gazpacho, prosciutto and melon balls.  For sweets, we made mini lemon merengue pies with a stick to the roof of your mouth merengue, churro cake pops, kalhua ganache brownies, smores pops... and finished with twizzlers and circus peanuts.
